slowpitch softball pitching?

im going to be pitching slowpitch in a co-rec C/D league. I want to protect myself after almost geting a liner in the face last year. a catcher's hockey style mask is too expensive. what about a batting helmet with a face cage on it? does that work? or would i be more of a target and get more liners hit at me? your thoughts

They actually make masks specifically for pitching. Mines called a game face. I used it for fastpitch. You can get them on line or in stores. i cant remember where i got mine at the minute sorry!!
